Stratford taking part in National equity and inclusion project

International Women's Day, taking place on Saturday, March 8th has been observed since the early 1900's, a time when women had very few rights and very defined roles within society. Women's oppression and inequality was spurring women to become more vocal and active in campaigning for change, International Women’s Day was used to bring attention to the issues being faced by women around the world. Since this time, significant changes have occurred in women's and society's attitudes and thoughts about women's equality and emancipation.

Report on how to increase voter turnout among low-income residents released March 5th, 2014

The City for All Women Initiative (CAWI) and the Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centers (CHRC) invite the community, in the presence of the Mayor of Ottawa and members of City Council, to recognize local women as Civic Engagement Ambassadors and to witness the release of a report on how to increase civic engagement among low income residents.
